The Beginning
OPTO launched in 2020, at a time when global fascination with watches was accelerating rapidly.
Collectors were spending more time researching, refining tastes, and personalising their timepieces, yet a simple Google search revealed a clear gap; there were no local or regional solutions dedicated to the strap side of the watch journey.
Everything felt distant, generic, or disconnected from how collectors here actually wore and lived with their watches. OPTO started with a limited collection, intentionally small and focused, built to support collectors from the very first step of their journey and to act as a true partner rather than just a product provider.
Building Momentum
By 2022, OPTO moved from validation to expansion. The introduction of OWC Rubber marked a shift toward performance and everyday versatility, while the addition of 20 new alligator colours expanded creative freedom for collectors.
Investment in the second version of the website improved clarity, usability, and education, reinforcing OPTO’s role as a collector journey partner rather than a simple storefront. This was also the year OPTO increased its regional footprint and added retail partners for the first time, bringing the brand closer to collectors across different markets.
A New Chapter
2026 marks the start of a new OPTO. A new logo and a new website reflect evolution, with the same promise at the core: to be a long-term collector journey partner. This era introduces StrapMatch, adding real value to the watch ecosystem by helping collectors understand fit, compatibility, and options before making decisions. Today, OPTO offers more products than ever across 10+ leather types, with expanded materials collaborations and partnerships. With a stronger ecosystem, deeper tools, and a clearer vision, OPTO is focused on doing more, creating more innovative solutions, and supporting collectors at every stage of their watch journey.
